Oldham has a fledgling junior section under the overview of Jimmy Lister the club's PGA professional, with the assistance of Duncan Eastham the Junior Organiser.
Free Junior coaching sessions are run every Saturday afternoon from 1.30pm, please contact Jimmy for details. These sessions are open to all existing Juniors and any newcomers who wish to come along and give golf a try. Everyone will be taught the basics of the game, (including rules and etiquette) before working on different skills and areas, with friendly competitions being run for those who have progressed to playing on the course. There is even some junior equipment that can be used by newcomers who don't have their own, so parents don't have to spend money until they know their child is genuinely interested.
A Junior academy membership is only £40 for anyone under 18. This entitles the member to playing privilege on the course, a junior handicap and eligibility into junior competitions.
Oldham golf club actively promotes a child friendly environment and encourage junior golfers at all levels, including beginners. We are committed to the adoption of a child protection policy
